LTB Resources
We understand the immense trust our members place in us, and it is deeply meaningful when any of our members approach us seeking help with their mental health. Our commitment is to support you, and we honour this responsibility with utmost seriousness. With this in mind, we have several resources designed to help our members with their mental health. These include two webinars focused on:
We also have an entire Mental Wellbeing course covering 6 key areas that can affect mental health.
- How to separate worth from work
- How to overcome imposter syndrome
- How to work with challenging clients and employers
- How to reduce stress and burnout
- How to cope with body image anxiety
- How to have a healthy relationship with social media.
These resources can be a good starting point if you need help. However, we may not be the best equipped to address your concerns. In many instances, the most ethical and responsible course of action is to guide you towards professionals with expertise for your circumstances. The list below contains several ways to do that if you are in the UK. Unfortunately we don’t have similar information for other areas however local health services are often a good starting place for support.
Finding Therapy:
NHS Support
Scheduling an appointment with your GP to discuss potential medication or a referral to a therapist is a good starting point. As a UK resident, all the aid and support you receive will be free. However, it’s important to note that you might be unable to select your therapist. This can lead to a mismatch between you and the therapist. If this occurs, you can request a referral to a different therapist, though this might involve a considerable waiting period.
Private Support:
Navigating the private sector can be overwhelming due to all the different options. It’s crucial to be cautious of unethical and inappropriate forms of support. To ensure you receive the appropriate care, we recommend seeking a therapist accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Some private services are also available to NHS patients for free in some areas. These include:
