Privacy Notice

Lift the Bar is an education company for personal trainers. We provide support and education in a variety of formats and want to ensure you are aware of the information we collect and hold about you.

What information do we hold about you?

Call/communication monitoring

We may also monitor, record, store and use communications we have with you to improve the quality of our products and customer service, to confirm any instructions you give us, for training and operational compliance purposes and / or to provide you with support.

 

How may we use your information?

As an LTB member

We process your information under the legal basis of legitimate interests. These interests include some or all of the following:

*to provide the best service we can: to provide you with content, products, services, tailored and personalised recommendations, general account management and the management of our products and services including access to the members site,  highlighting resources that are new or may be of interest, checking in on members and requesting feedback.

*to understand how people use the resources provided, to allow us to enhance, modify, personalise or otherwise improve our services and communications for the benefit of our customers.

*to determine the effectiveness of advertising and marketing campaigns

* to notify members of future offers and related products from ourselves and selected trusted partners.

Whenever we process data for these purposes we will ensure that we always consider your personal data rights, hold them in the highest regard and take them into account in our decision making.

 

As a store customer

We need your information in order to fulfil the contract for the provision of the product or service you have purchased. Your data may be shared externally for the purpose of providing your purchase, where this is done, we will ensure your data is appropriately protected by the service provider.

 

In addition to using your information for such necessary purposes, we may also use your information to improve our products, services and customer experiences, in the following ways:


As a Lifting Club Member, Attendee of a seminar or workshop with a physical component or taking part in 1:2:1 coaching with LTB

We need your information in order to fulfil the contract for the provision of the product or service you have purchased. Your data may be shared externally for the purpose of providing your purchase, where this is done, we will ensure your data is appropriately protected by the service provider.

 

In addition to using your information for such necessary purposes, we may also use your information to improve our products, services and customer experiences, in the following ways:

In order to provide you with training support and advice we need you to provide health data in the form of a PARQ.  

This is required to ensure the programmes provided are safe and effective.  

This is processed based on the following condition for processing special category data (f) Legal claims or judicial acts.

You are responsible for ensuring you update us of any relevant changes to your health and fitness whilst you are part of LTB Lifting Club, attending seminars with physical activity elements or recieving 1:2:1 coaching.


As a Newsletter Subscriber

We process your information under the legal basis of legitimate interests.  These interests include some or all of the following:

*to provide you with a useful and informative newsletter

*to review usage, open rates and other metrics that allow us to improve the service

*to communicate with all users to notify them of new resources, changes to the service and any other necessary administrative communications.

 

How may we share your information?

We may share your information externally in order to provide you with the service you are entitled to, including but not limited to, sending you any products you purchase and ensuring the members site is functioning appropriately.

We may share your information externally as a result of system related interactions, including, but not limited to, technical support with individuals supporting the platforms and software used in our service.

We may also share your information with tutors of courses you have undertaken on the site.

We may use and share your information with third parties to enable us to comply with any legal or regulatory requirements; to protect or enforce our rights or the rights of any third party such as by analysing activity on our network to help block unauthorised or illegitimate content, publication of, or access to it; and for the purpose of safeguarding an individual’s vital interests, national security, responding to statutory obligations or requests from the courts and enforcement authorities.

In all cases we will ensure we have reviewed the companies we use and their commitment to data protection and have appropriate safeguards in place, we will also minimise the information shared as much as possible.

 

Keeping your data up to date

You may notify us of any updates, amendments and corrections to your information, or restrict or delete your data (where applicable), via the update details form linked to the footer of the members site or by contacting Claire Winter on [email protected]

Please note that we may need certain information to enable us to provide you with the products, goods and services you ask for, so changes you make to your data or restrictions you ask us to make on how we use your data may affect what services we can provide. How long we keep your information

We retain your information for up to 6 years following the end of your membership with us or your purchase. When deciding what to retain, we take into account what information we need to best provide you with products, goods and services, manage your relationship with us, meet our statutory obligations and meet our customers’ and previous customers reasonable expectations.

Analytics

We like to keep track of what websites, information and links are popular and which ones don’t get used so much, to help us keep our information relevant and up to date. How can I choose not to receive Online Behavioural Advertising and other tracking cookies?
